CCSME Half-Day Psychopharmacology Series | This course in our series will focus on understanding the diagnosis (dimensional versus categorical) and treatment of mood disorders and depression. After understanding how mood disorders present, we will undertake an exploration of possible underlying causes. A review of treatments, including medication, psychotherapy, and somatic (ECT, r-TMS, DBS) will be presented. Cases will be discussed to help guide us through the above topics.

Jeffrey Barkin, MD, is a Yale trained, Board Certified general and geriatric psychiatrist with specific expertise in neuropsychiatry and psychopharmacology, specializing in mood and anxiety disorders.
