The revised 2023 Fourth Edition of The ASAM Criteria is soon to be released. This webinar will provide a high level overview of the changes to The ASAM Criteria, how it has been adapted and how it will be evaluated.
Objectives
– Describe the major changes that will appear in The ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition.
– Describe at least three research priorities to evaluate effectiveness of implementation for The ASAM Criteria Fourth Edition.
– Explain how lessons learned from the Third Edition implementation at the state level can help to inform states’ implementation of the Fourth Edition.

Jeffrey Goldsmith, MD, DLFAPA, DFASAM
R.Jeffrey Goldsmith MD, DLFAPA, DFASAM is a board certified Addiction Medicine subspecialist.
He was president of the American Society of Addiction Medicine 2015-2017. He ran the Addiction fellowships at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center for 20 years and was Professor of Clinical Psychiatry for the College of Medicine. Dr. Goldsmith worked clinically in the Dual Diagnosis Clinic, the Buprenorphine Treatment Clinic, and the Traumatic Brain Injury PTSD program. He was a co-investigator in the Clinical Trials Network from 1995-2008.
