Bio | Sally Bowden Schaible, LCPC, CCMHC

Sally Bowden-Schaible, is founder of LivingWell* (2008) and was the coordinator from 2008-2018. She received her MS in Counseling from the University of Southern Maine, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 30 years of counseling experience and is nationally certified as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). She is also certified as an Approved Consultant in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH).

Sally was an adjunct faculty member in the Counselor Education program at USM, co-teaching Religion and Spirituality in Counseling (2002-2016) and Mind/body Techniques in Counseling (2003-2013)and in the Social Work department at the University of New England, teaching Mindfulness and Meditation in Social Work. At LivingWell and at Luna Cottage on Verona Island, ME,  she teaches continuing education programs, including a 20-hour program, Mindfulness & Meditation in the Mental Health Profession. She has provided numerous workshops on Buddhist psychology, on mindfulness and meditation in the mental health profession, and on the use of poetry in psychotherapy and caregiving  Sally also provides individual and group clinical supervision/consultation (a contemplative model she developed that integrates mindfulness-based practices) to counselors/psychotherapists.
