Rachel Henderson has 40+ years of experience in the field of addictions and mental health in Ohio and Maine. She holds a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and has completed a major portion of the course work for a Ph.D. She developed a program for services to off-shore islands that won an award from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, as well as a program for youth that was featured on ABC Nightly News as a program that works.
Rachel’s most recent work is collaborating with Addiction Consulting and Treatment (ACT-LLC) in North Carolina in the development of online courses. She has also worked with the University of North Carolina School of Social Work in the development and teaching of an online course, Fundamentals for Addiction Counselors. She previously worked at the Colby College Health Center assessing and counseling students who were experiencing issues with substance abuse in their own lives or were dealing with the substance abuse of friends or family members. Rachel has worked in private non- profit agencies, hospitals, private practice, and government.
Rachel and her husband, Hal currently live in Manchester, Maine.
