Join the CoE-PHI and the Co-Occurring Collaborative Serving Maine for a virtual training during which we’ll provide a detailed overview of 42 CFR Part 2 and its application to substance use treatment information, and a brief overview of the privacy implications of 42 CFR Part 8, the law and set of regulations that apply to the provision of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).  During this presentation, the CoE-PHI will present interactive case studies regarding Part 2’s application to LADCs in Maine, sharing information to coordinate care and what happens to Part 2-protected information after initial disclosure. Ample time for interactive Q&A will be allotted during this presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the basic requirements of 42 CFR Part 2 (“Part 2”) and how is applies to substance use treatment information after initial disclosure.
  2. Recognize how to apply Part 2 through case study examples representing common scenarios
  3. Describe the privacy implications of 42 CFR Part 8
  4. Identify how to access resources and technical assistance through the CoE-PHI
