Description
April 1, 2025 | 12:00-1:00 PM
Description:
This guided discussion will begin with a description of findings from key trials published in the last five years regarding association between prescribed stimulant use and risk of cardiovascular disease, acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, hypertension, arterial disease, venous thromboembolism and arrhythmias. We will dive into the data regarding how CV risk of stimulant use compares with risk of ADHD treatment with nonstimulant medications. Finally, we will identify how findings differ based on patient population including age, sex, preexisting cardiovascular disease, and duration of stimulant use. This session will be a guided discussion rather than a typical powerpoint presentation so we will spend the majority of the session discussing what the data means and how it can be applied to optimize patient care in an individualized and patient centered fashion.
