Monique Coombs is the director of Community Programs for the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association (MCFA). MCFA is an industry-driven nonprofit working with fishermen to restore the fisheries in the Gulf of Maine and sustain Maine’s fishing communities for future generations. My work often falls in the categories of social and economic impacts and shoreside infrastructure needs (like the working waterfront). I started working for the fishing industry in 2008 and prior to that I was an ACSM and AFAA certified personal trainer. (I’m working on my NASM certification now.) I am married to a fisherman and I have two kids that both have their student lobster licenses.
