Description:

The Psychosis-Informed Care training is for anyone in the mental health field who would like to learn how to assess early psychosis in their practice and incorporate psychosis-informed care into other treatment models. One in ten adults and one in seven adolescents report hearing voices or having other psychotic experiences; AND, early psychosis experiences can be neutral or positive, and don’t always cause distress
In fact, early psychosis experiences can be powerful predictors of mood, stress, life, and functioning changes across the spectrum of human experience. The reality is that early psychosis experiences are under-detected, unreported, and often misunderstood, in spite of being a crucial component of mental health.
We will also introduce you to a new SAMHSA-funded initiative with FREE resources for:

  • Ongoing consultation in early psychosis for community providers
  • Psychosis-informed care workforce development trainings for providers, including Advanced Training and Certification in CBT for psychosis
  • Monthly Group consultation calls and access to referrals for PIER graduates and/or people seeking outpatient psychosis-informed services in general practice settings

For additional information about PIER State-wide Early Psychosis services, and/or  the PIER Community Hope and Resources for Psychosis (CHRp) that funded this and other trainings, go to www.pierprogram.org or email Rebecca Jaynes, LCPC PIER CHRp Supervisor for more information.
