This 2-day, 6-hour training is intended to partially fulfill the initial 24 hours of training requirements for Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) (See Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors – Licensing | Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (maine.gov)) and is useful for new and veteran supervisors. The facilitator is an experienced trainer in mental health, addictions, and co-occurring disorder treatment and supervision. The format involves lectures, self-evaluation, as well as small and large group virtual breakouts.

There will be one 15 minute break each day and the slide presentation and handouts will be emailed to registrants in advance. All participants are required to have a webcam and either computer or phone audio.

Please note: If you would like to fulfill the full 24 hours of training requirements for the initial CCS certification, you will need to enroll in all four of the 6-hour CCS courses:

Session 1: Assessing Skills and Self-Evaluation
Session 3: Effective Management and Administration
Session 4: Professional Responsibility and Ethics

About the Presenter

Christine McNulty, LCSW, LADC, CCS
Christine McNulty has spent her career working with children, adolescents and adults that have been impacted by substance use and mental health challenges. Christine began her career in the early nineties working in an inpatient mental health hospital with children and adolescents. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Christine moved to San Jose, CA where she led a drop-in program for homeless and street dependent youth and young adults. After working in California for 6 years, Christine returned home to Maine where she completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Over the last 25 years, Christine has had the opportunity to work with many diverse populations in a number of diverse settings. She has had the opportunity to work in inpatient hospital treatment programs; and, has led teams in residential treatment programs; social service drop-in programs for homeless populations; group homes; and, correctional facilities. Currently, Christine is working as a behavioral health consultant for social service programs and schools.

Contact Hours
A completed evaluation is required to receive a certificate of contact hours for the following:

6 Category I contact hours for Psychologists are provided. CCSME is a pre-approved sponsor and provider of Professional Education Activities for Psychologists.

6 contact hours for CHES. CCSME is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

Certificate of attendance for 6 contact hours for social workers, licensed clinical professional counselors, and other professionals.

6 contact hours pending approval by the Maine Board of Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
