Description:

Every year, infants die in Maine due while in an unsafe sleep environment. Certain infants are at higher risk, such as those born to parents with substance use disorders.  Importantly, we have the ability to prevent these deaths through education and resources throughout our state which you are able to access for your patients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review local and national data surrounding sudden unexpected infant death (SUID)
  2. Discuss infant safe sleep, current practices, barriers, and examples of quality improvement efforts
  3. Emphasize local resources for practitioners and families
