Description:
This one-hour training will begin with a basic overview of alcohol use. We will then focus on triaging patients based upon risk factor stratification and introduce some basic approaches for ambulatory detox management. We will close with a clinical discussion of two different cases.
Objectives:

To demonstrate a basic understanding of standard drink sizes and impact on blood alcohol level

To be able to triage patients who present for alcohol withdrawal management

To be able to manage alcohol withdrawal in an ambulatory setting
