Description:

This one-hour training will begin with a basic overview of alcohol use.  We will then focus on triaging patients based upon risk factor stratification and introduce some basic approaches for ambulatory detox management.  We will close with a clinical discussion of two different cases.

Objectives:

  • To demonstrate a basic understanding of standard drink sizes and impact on blood alcohol level

  • To be able to triage patients who present for alcohol withdrawal management

  • To be able to manage alcohol withdrawal in an ambulatory setting

For physicians who require a CME certificate, the certificate will be emailed directly to you 2-3 weeks after this course You must complete the survey within 2 weeks to receive your certificate. For all other professions, you can download and use the certificate provided within this course.
