From a foundation in harm reduction, Dr. Chung will discuss how to improve access to care for patients with substance use disorders.

Learning Objectives:

  1. How to apply harm reduction in your clinical practice.
  2. How to approach patients that are “non-compliant”.
  3. What are some of the risks in having an overly rigid approach to treating patients with substance use disorder?

Presenters:

Gilmore Chung, MD

Gilmore Chung completed medical school at the University of Kentucky, completed his Internal-Medicine residency at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, and currently works as the director of addiction medicine, and is site director of the Rose Ave Clinic at Venice Family Clinic, an FQHC in Los Angeles.
