Description
This presentation provides a review of both normal and abnormal brain function and examines the relationships between brain dysfunction, psychiatric disorders and substance use disorders. The building blocks of the brain, basic brain anatomy, and the role of stress on the brain are also explored in this 1-hour course.

After watching a video presentation by Carl Salzman, MD, you will be required to take a short quiz. Upon receiving a grade of 80% or higher, you will be directed to a course evaluation. Once you have completed the evaluation, you will be able to download a .pdf certificate to get your course credit.

ABOUT the PRESENTER
Carl Salzman, MD, Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts Mental Health Center. Dr. Salzman has developed a long-standing educational program in psychopharmacology at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center for psychiatric residents, psychology interns as well as a highly successful psychopharmacology continuing education programs for practicing clinicians that annually draws students from around the US, Canada, South America and Europe.
